AI-assisted software development

We use AI tools including Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini during the development of Nesting Solver. These tools support our team’s work on algorithms and software development.

Using AI to develop software is different from asking a conversational model to perform manufacturing calculations. The product’s 3D placement calculations, candidate searches and geometric checks run in Nesting Solver’s own optimization engine.

Geometry-based optimization

The engine considers part geometries, production quantities, build space and defined clearances together. Different orientation and placement strategies explore more efficient layouts. Chain prevention and fixed-height layer balancing are separate methods that support placement quality.

Offline optimization does not require an internet connection. In the server version, computation runs in the selected server environment. Using development tools does not mean that customer files are automatically sent to those tools.

Industrial discussions and pilot projects

Nesting Solver is developed through discussions, collaborations and pilot projects with companies. We work with production teams to consider part diversity, manufacturing constraints and day-to-day planning needs.

These projects focus on evaluating the software in different production scenarios and translating field feedback into product improvements. Company identities, agreement details and production geometries are not published on this website.

Evaluation and development

Candidate layouts are compared under consistent inputs and manufacturing conditions. Evaluation considers height, geometric feasibility, part clearance and layer distribution. Our technical field report explains the approach and evaluation methods.

Product features evolve through application checks and feedback from pilot projects.
